Five tips for better image prompts

Small prompt changes that consistently produce sharper, more on-brand results.

Good prompts are specific, sensory, and constrained.

  1. Lead with the subject, then the setting, then the style.
  2. Name the lens or medium ("35mm", "studio softbox", "ink wash").
  3. Constrain the palette to 2–3 colors for cohesion across a series.
  4. Add one negative ("no text", "no extra fingers") rather than a long list.
  5. Iterate on one variable at a time so you can tell what actually moved the result.
